Dr. Peter Cowden is a widely recognized leader in the field. A consulting psychologist and former Fortune 100 corporate executive, Dr. Cowden has devoted the past twenty-five years to exclusively coaching and advising executives.

As a management consultant, Dr. Cowden recognized the need for custom-fitted approaches for senior executives based on their particular needs. He founded EDI (Executive Destinations Inc.) to focus exclusively on coaching senior executives. Since then, his firm has become well known for providing top quality assessment, development and guidance.

Dr. Cowden’s own practice focuses primarily on Chief Executive Officers, Presidents, Chief Operating Officers, General Managers and Managing Partners. His clients range from such organizations as multi-national corporations to investment firms including private equity, venture capital and hedge funds. His clients have included AT&T, Verizon, TJX Companies, Panera Bread, Constant Contact, Blue Apron, Analog Devices, Biogen, Agfa, Forrester Research, Akamai, Dyax Corp., Cabot Corporation, Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, Boston Scientific, Massachusetts Medical Society, Prudential, Bear Stearns, GE Asset Management, Thomson Financial, Indus Capital Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, TrueBridge Capital, East Rock Capital, Scopia Capital Management, OpenView Venture Partners, Pamplona Capital Management, Virtu Financial, and Oak Hill Investment Management. Dr. Cowden combines a unique blend of academic training and corporate management expertise. He holds a doctorate from Harvard University and a master’s degree from Yale University. He’s taught and lectured at Harvard and Yale as well as other universities, professional associations and conference sponsors. Dr. Cowden has authored numerous articles on career development, job satisfaction, downsizing and organizational change, which have appeared in professional journals such as the American Psychologist, Monthly Labor Review and American Journal of Psychology. He has been featured, interviewed and quoted in numerous business and industry media including the Boston Globe, InformationWeek, Boston Business Journal, Mass High Tech and the Bloomberg Business Report.
